All-on-4 Dental Implants in Jacksonville

Are you tired of your removable denture? Do you have failing teeth that will need to be restored? All-on-4® (also commonly referred to as “Teeth-in-a-Day”) may be the right choice for patients in these situations. All-on-4® utilizes state-of-the-art dental implants to repair teeth effectively, and like the name suggests, you will only need four implants placed within the jaw to support a custom restoration. Please contact Parkway Prosthodontics in Jacksonville today to schedule a consultation appointment with Dr. Ryan and her knowledgeable dentistry team. We will examine your smile, explain your treatment options, and partner with you to create a tooth replacement plan that meets your needs and fits your schedule and budget.

What’s the Difference Between Traditional Implants & All-on-4?

Replacing a full arch of missing teeth with traditional implants will often require time-consuming bone and gum tissue grafts, six or more implants, and a treatment plan that could span multiple years.

Thankfully, All-on-4® transforms this process for the better. You will only need to visit Dr. Ryan for a few appointments, and she will be happy to help you develop a comprehensive treatment plan with every step completed right here in our office. All-on-4® implant dentures are very reliable, beneficial for your oral health, and simple to maintain over time. Because they utilize the naturally denser portion of the jaw at the front of the mouth, most patients don’t need bone or tissue grafts before treatment. That means the entire process is less invasive, minimizing risk and allowing more patients than ever before to replace missing teeth with dental implants.

Why Should I Choose All-on-4 Dental Implants?

With All-on-4®, patients will be able to walk into our Jacksonville practice on the day of their treatment and walk out with new teeth – it’s really that simple. After placing just four implants at strategic angles into the jawbone, a temporary prosthetic will be attached over them immediately. In a few months, you’ll return to receive your final fixed denture that will look, feel, and function just like your natural smile. Thanks to the supportive implant posts that mimic tooth roots, patients have the oral comfort and security they’ve missed with traditional removable dentures, and they will also be able to preserve their jaw’s health. Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy virtually any food you want!

Am I a Candidate for All-on-4?

Dr. Ryan typically recommends this transformative procedure for patients who have experienced significant tooth loss and/or who don’t have enough healthy jaw structure left to support the placement of traditional implant dentures. A certain amount of jawbone density is required to receive any kind of implant, and patients may discover difficulties with All-on-4® treatment if this is the case for their oral health. Also, please keep in mind that All-on-4® might not be the best option for patients who struggle with chronic diseases like diabetes.

What Should I Expect During All-on-4 Treatment?

The thing that makes All-on-4 so unique is the way the implant posts are placed. Two of the implants are placed vertically to support the front of the denture. Then, two implant posts are angled from the back of the denture to implant into the front of the jaw. This procedure can take several hours to complete, and before you leave, we can usually place a lightweight, temporary denture. This will allow you to get used to the feel of your All-on-4 prosthetic until the final denture is designed, crafted, and attached to your implant posts. Once your gums have time to heal, you can return to Parkway Prosthodontics where we’ll design your custom denture. Once this prosthetic is returned from the lab, you will comeback for one short final treatment appointment, so we can attach your flawless, final denture.

How do I Care for My All-on-4 Denture?

Once your All-on-4 denture is in place, you can brush it just like healthy teeth. We recommend using an ultra soft bristled toothbrush to avoid excessive wear to your prosthetic. You may need to use a specialized flossing tool like a water flosser to remove food and plaque that can get stuck between the denture base and the soft tissue. Using antimicrobial mouth rinse can also help to reduce plaque buildup.
