The custom crafted porcelain veneers are cemented into position over the fronts of teeth, creating a flawless smile you’ll be proud to share.
Some of the many benefits of cosmetic treatment using porcelain veneers include:
Patients who want to make significant changes to the appearance of their smiles without spending months on complex treatments may want to consider porcelain veneers. They are ideal for patients who have any of the following cosmetic concerns:
Treatment with porcelain veneers require two trips to our office. During the initial visit, we’ll remove a small amount of surface tooth enamel. This allows your veneer to fit into your natural tooth line without adding any additional structure that can change the way your bite feels. Once teeth are prepared, we capture impressions for the dental lab. These impressions are used to craft your final porcelain veneers. Before you leave the office, the dentist will attach a temporary veneer that will allow you to get used to the look and feel of your new smile while the lab crafts your final restoration. When we receive your custom crafted veneer, you’ll return to our office to exchange your temporary for a custom dental crown.
To reduce the wear to your teeth and extend the life of your veneers, you should use minimally abrasive toothpaste and soft bristled toothbrushes. You should also take care to avoid pressing too hard while brushing. Switching to waxed floss or a water flosser may also be beneficial to avoid tugging around the edges of your veneer that can lead to dislodging the restoration.
