CHECK-UPS & DENTAL CLEANINGS
Patients of all ages should be scheduling regular dental appointments every six months or twice each calendar year. Underlying concerns like periodontal disease or sensitivity to tooth decay may require more frequent visits to keep your oral health at a high level.

Dr. Ryan will leave no tooth unturned during this process, carefully inspecting your gum tissue, your jaw, your resting bite, your jaw joints, any existing restorative work, and other components that make up your smile’s overall wellbeing. If you’re in need of treatment, she will work with you closely in order to develop the ideal plan of action that takes your personal needs and goals into account. Additionally, a professional cleaning will remove bacteria-filled plaque, tartar, and minor staining from the mouth, leaving your teeth healthier and much more polished.
CHILDREN’S DENTISTRY
For added convenience, we are happy to see every member of the family for general care. Dr. Ryan is the proud mother of three special daughters, and she is very familiar with the gentle and kind touch young patients need to feel at ease in the dentist’s office. We will help your loved one lay the groundwork for a healthy and happy smile that lasts for life with regular checkups, cleanings, and other kid-friendly services.
JACKSONVILLE PERIODONTAL THERAPY
Periodontal (gum) disease is a very common oral infection that can eventually rob patients of their teeth, their healthy jawbone, and even their overall wellbeing. At Parkway Prosthodontics, Dr. Ryan and her team will screen for signs of this condition at every checkup, and effective therapy is available as needed to reverse any damage. We also utilize a state-of-the-art soft tissue laser that can treat infected gum tissue precisely and comfortably for added benefit to the patient.
NIGHTGUARDS FOR BRUXISM
Bruxism (also known as teeth grinding) can cause serious harm to your natural teeth and restorative work overtime if it’s left untreated. Here in Jacksonville, Dr. Ryan will prescribe a custom-made nightguard if we discover concerning signs of wear during your regular checkups. The oral appliance can be worn comfortably overnight or during the day, and its durable structure will minimize damaging contact between the rows of teeth.
ORAL CANCER SCREENING
Tens of thousands of people here in the United States suffer from oral cancers, many of whom won’t survive more than five years past their initial diagnosis. Our team strives to identify this condition as soon as possible in its development by providing screenings at every regular checkup. Dr. Ryan will carefully review the soft tissue for signs of lumps, crusts, discolored areas, or other symptoms that may indicate cancerous cells. A biopsy can be performed if there is any cause for concern.
FLUORIDE TREATMENT
Fluoride is a mineral that can be found in countless oral hygiene products, food items, and even the water coming out of your kitchen sink at home. Over the years, research has shown that a safe amount of fluoride exposure actually benefits your oral health, making the tooth enamel more resistant to bacteria and even reversing decay in some cases. Although children are the prime candidates for professional fluoride treatment, Dr. Ryan may recommend this service to patients of all ages.
TMJ / TMD THERAPY
TMJ disorder (also known as TMD) can cause chronic pain in the jaw joint and nearby muscles that control your facial movement. This complex condition may develop over time through a number of methods, including genetics, a sudden jaw injury, bruxism (teeth grinding), or a misaligned bite. As a prosthodontist, Dr. Ryan has extensively studied TMJ disorder and can provide effective therapy in the form of occlusal (bite) adjustment and custom-made oral appliances.
SLEEP APNEA THERAPY
If you regularly feel exhausted in the mornings even after a full night of rest or keep your bed partner awake all night with excessively loud snoring, you may be suffering from sleep apnea. Thankfully, Dr. Ryan can provide support to tired patients in the form of oral appliance therapy, which will help you breathe easier and without interruption throughout the night.
