Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatments

Which Injectable is Right For You?

"Getting work done" is no longer the secret it once was. In fact, if you're not already on the train it is likely you are the last one of your friends to take advantage of technology's non-surgical cosmetic treatments.

At some point, it's hard to ignore the vivid signs of aging you see in the mirror -- little wrinkles around your eyes or lips, sunken face, maybe some sagging skin. There used to be few options for turning back the clock without going under the knife. But today, you can soften the effects of time on your face with many nonsurgical cosmetic procedures. But, which injectable is right for you? They are a versatile line of beauty products well suited to reverse many visible signs of aging. Let's start off with explaining some common aging complaints and which treatment is best.

Lines and wrinkles can be caused by repeated expressions, such as furring your brow, frowning, and smiling. Bo tox injections prevent certain facial muscles from contracting and causing wrinkles. With skilled injections, you will look naturally rejuvenated.

Loss of Facial Volume

Dermal Fillers plump and smooth skin, adding volume and creating the appearance of visibly lift. They can be applied in the midface(cheeks), around the jowls, and even on the lips to add volume.

A pocket of fat below the chin can be troublesome and make your face look rounded or full. With a Kybella injection, fat cells at the treatment site are eliminated. The result is a well-sculpted profile.

Noticeable Wrinkle Smoothing with No Downtime

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, sometimes referred to as

"Bo tox" by patients, is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of lines caused from expression. It works by blocking nerve impulses directly to the injected muscles. With real, noticeable results, no surgery, and no recovery time it is a perfect choice for many patients.

The procedure is considered a safe, effective way of treating aging skin.  Common areas for BO TOX® &  XEOMIN® injections include horizontal forehead furrows, vertical lines between the eyebrows, and “crow’s feet” around the eyes.  Botulinum Products have been proven to be the best non-surgical form of facial rejuvenation and is capable of producing phenomenal improvements in your appearance.

Reasons for Considering a BO TOX® or XEOMIN® Treatment:

  • Excessive facial wrinkles.

  • Large wrinkles or furrows in your forehead.

  • Small wrinkles or “crow’s feet” around your eyes.

  • A vertical “frown line” between your eyebrows.

Most signs of aging in the face—wrinkles, lines, and crow’s feet—can be reversed by targeting volume in specific areas. Dermal fillers, also called injectable fillers and soft-tissue fillers, are aesthetic products approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to help add volume and shape a natural, youthful facial appearance. Only licensed physicians, physician assistants, and nurses can perform dermal filler injections in the US.

Dermal fillers are safe and convenient. They’re made with a base ingredient of hyaluronic acid (HA), collagen, or some type of biosynthetic polymer—all naturally occurring substances. They’re not permanent, but some will produce results that last more than a year.

Dermal fillers are used to add volume. They help the body deliver nutrients to the skin, which also helps skin retain moisture. With dermal fillers, we can restore softness and smooth out things like:

  • Wrinkles

  • Cheek depressions

  • Deep lines from the nose to the mouth that show up as you get older

  • Acne scars

  • Frown lines

  • Scarring

  • Worry lines

  • Crow’s feet

  • Marionette lines

  • Lip borders

No need to go under the knife for a facelift!

Are you looking for a non-surgical alternative to a facelift? Parkway Prosthodontics may have the treatment you’re looking for with the PDO (polydioxanone) thread lift. This minimally invasive treatment can make you look and feel younger with minimal downtime.

The PDO thread lift is an advanced aesthetic procedure that safely and instantly lifts and tightens loose skin on the face, neck, and body with minimal downtime. Before the PDO thread lift, your only option for drooping jowls and cheeks was a facelift. Now, at Parkway Prosthodontics in Jacksonville, FL we can restore your youthful look without the need for invasive surgery.

Results can vary based on the tissue laxity, and the type, amount, and location of the threads used. While results have been reported to last 18 months to 2 years, the procedure is not a replacement for fillers. Facial aging is caused by a combination of skeletal, soft tissue, and skin changes that lead to soft tissue laxity and volume loss. Fillers are essential in restoring lost volume in the aging face and are particularly helpful in combination with tissue tightening lasers, face-lifts, and thread-lift procedures. Fillers used in combination with thread-lifts also increase the longevity of the thread-lift because of additional collagen stimulation.

KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of anyone with a double chin.

A double chin occurs when a subcutaneous sheet of fat around your neck sags and causes a wrinkle. Many individuals have a hereditary predisposition to them.

Other reasons include:

  • Retaining too much water in the chin area

  • Natural storing of excess fat

  • Muscle loss or weak muscles in the chin area

  • Natural progression of aging

As you age, you lose muscle, so the muscles in your chin weaken, and your skin grows looser. These factors may combine to leave you with a double chin, but the major cause of double chins is excess body fat. Some people carry fat on the chin more easily than anywhere else, and obesity and double chins go hand in hand.
