IMPLANT-RETAINED DENTURES

JACKSONVILLE

Have you lost a significant number of teeth? Or maybe you are on the brink of the extraction of several failing teeth. Either way, finding a stable tooth replacement is especially important in the case of multiple tooth loss, when the gap in the smile may be as wide as three or more teeth. Implant-retained dentures in Jacksonville offer a wonderful solution! Keep reading to learn more about this option and whether or not you are likely an eligible candidate to enjoy all the benefits of dental implants.

BENEFITS OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants offer a wealth of benefits for patients who are already missing teeth or facing imminent tooth loss. Some of the most considerable advantages of this tooth-replacement option include:

  • A comprehensive solution which gives you back the missing teeth as well as supportive tooth roots -- for maximum stability

  • Easier to clean than other tooth replacement options

  • Dental implant-retained dentures look, fit, and feel just like your natural teeth (or better)

  • Implant dentures make it easy to chew and thus promote a balanced, nutritious diet

  • Speech is clearer with a stable tooth replacement

  • With careful cleaning and excellent maintenance, your dental implants can last for a lifetime. That makes them a great financial investment!

HOW DOES AN IMPLANT DENTURE WORK?

There are two options for your implant denture. No matter how many teeth you are missing, both require the placement of at least 2 dental implants. First, the dental implants will be surgically placed into the jaw bone. After they have healed together with the bone tissue, they are exposed once more and can be permanently restored.

The method that is right for you depends on your specific needs.

The two options for an implant denture include:

  1. BALL-RETAINED DENTURE

    • A ball-retained denture has holes that fit securely into the dental implants, which have an extended part that allows for the denture to snap right on top.

  2. BAR-RETAINED DENTURE

    • A bar-retained denture clips onto a bar that runs along the curve of the jaw. The bar is affixed to the dental implants, and the partial or complete denture attaches right onto this part using special clips.

UNDERSTANDING THE COST OF AN IMPLANT DENTURE

There is no fixed price for an implant denture. The total price of yours will depend on a few factors, including how many teeth you are missing and where in the jaw they are located. Dental implants cost more than other options in tooth replacement because they are completed in two phases and require a surgical procedure. No matter the cost of your implant denture, though, it is well worth the investment for a lasting tooth replacement which promotes oral and overall health. Dental implants can truly last for decades!
