HOW DENTAL IMPLANTS WORK
A prosthodontist will create your dental implants based on an individual treatment plan that accounts for your specific needs. The first step of the implant process involves implanting the tooth root, which is a small titanium post that we place directly in your jaw bone. Your then bone needs to heal around the posts before the rest of the process can occur, and this process takes between six and 12 weeks.  After you heal, we attach an abutment to each post. This small connector post is what holds your new tooth in place. We then attach your new tooth or teeth to the abutment. The crowns are made using impressions of your bite to determine their arrangement. If you are not receiving a full set of implants, your partials will match your natural teeth.
